The motto for Ironman Lake Placid this year is HTFU. Today I had to take that to a whole ‘nother level. Let’s recap…. Kicked in the head on the swim – black eye, could have quit. Flew into the forest at 30MPH – shoulders scraped and bloodied, knees scrapped and bloodied, various scrapes and [...] Sunny and calm, that lasted about 5 minutes on today’s long run. By the time the 2hr 15min run was over I had run through winds up to 50KM/hr, rain, sleet, ice pellets, snow and cycled through all those conditions at least twice. When I got home I wasn’t sure if it was Spring, Summer, [...] I made an appointment to see my sports doctor. There is a great sports medicine clinic in Burlington and I went there last year when I had an IT Band problem. This year things have been going well, no serious pains but some aches. Nothing that would register on the pain scale but at the [...] Sounds complex, can hurt like hell, but pretty typical and easily treatable. I popped into Levy Elliot Sports Medicine today to have my left knee checked out and as I though it was ITBS. My Internet diagnosis was correct.
